As General Counsel at Valesco, Casey Ragan oversees and is responsible for legal matters of the firm, including acquisitions, compliance and day-to-day legal activities. Casey’s responsibilities also include advising Valesco’s investment team and the boards of directors and officers of Valesco’s portfolio of companies to assist in risk management and support Valesco’s brand and mission of Commitment Beyond Capital.
Prior to joining Valesco, Casey spent 14 years in private practice as an Associate, Partner and Associate General Counsel at Am Law Top 50 Law Firms and other capital management firms. Casey’s focus was on mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions, particularly from a private equity lens, with expertise in industries ranging from manufacturing, to retail, to professional services, to energy. Casey has repeatedly been recognized in the industry as a top M&A attorney and was recently selected for inclusion on Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” list.
Casey received his B.S. from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from Southern Methodist Law School, cum laude, where he served on the Law Review and Student Senate.
Casey spends his time away from the office with his wife and two kids, travelling, watching gymnastics meets and coaching baseball.
