As Chief Financial Officer at Valesco, Stephanie Drake is responsible for all accounting, tax, audit activities as well as regulatory compliance with the Small Business Administration (“SBA”). This includes the reporting and compliance functions for the firm’s partnerships and management company and communication with the firm’s SBA analyst. Her responsibilities are key to the continued success and compliance of Valesco and our portfolio companies. She exemplifies our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our business.
Prior to joining Valesco, Stephanie held executive accounting positions in private equity and alternative asset management as Controller of Trive Capital and Fund Accountant for Carlson Capital, LP. Her earlier career was in public accounting, progressing to Audit Manager in the firm’s Investment Management Group. Stephanie’s early success in accounting was an indicator of her entrepreneurial mindset and the success that was to come. Her extensive accounting expertise is integral to managing reporting and compliance for each of our partners.
Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from The University of Oklahoma and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Drake and her husband love animals and volunteer with Operation Kindness, a local non-kill rescue shelter for dogs and cats, in their free time. Drake is an avid college football fan and enjoys working out, whether at a gym or walking her two standard poodles.
